Job Summary:

A distinguished private household seeks an experienced and highly organized Live-In Butler to manage the day-to-day operations of a luxurious residence. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service, oversee household staff, and ensure the smooth running of all household activities. The role requires a person with a keen eye for detail, discretion, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Formal Meal Service:
• Serve all meals with precision and elegance, adhering to formal service protocols. Supervise and coordinate outside servers during private social events, accommodating up to 50 guests.
• Care of Fine Tableware:
• Maintain and care for fine china, silver, and tabletop accessories, ensuring they are meticulously cleaned, polished, and stored in the butler’s pantry and separate bar.
• Silver Maintenance:
• Regularly clean and polish silverware, trays, and serving accessories to maintain their pristine condition.
• Guest Hospitality:
• Warmly receive guests, attend to their needs, and ensure their comfort throughout their stay.
• Household Shopping:
• Shop for household supplies and groceries as requested by the live-in chef, ensuring that all necessary items are stocked and available.
• Errands:
• Run various errands, including delivering gifts and fulfilling special requests.
• Vehicle Maintenance:
• Oversee the care of multiple vehicles, ensuring they are clean, well-maintained, and fully fueled at all times.
• Household Support:
• Assist the Housekeeper with deep cleaning tasks, including vacuuming and other detailed cleaning efforts.
• Driving Services:
• Provide transportation for the household principals and their guests, including airport transfers and other driving needs.
• Administrative Duties:
• Answer phones, take messages, and manage routine communication with external service providers.
• Service Scheduling:
• Coordinate and schedule routine and seasonal service calls for household maintenance, including electricians, pool maintenance, plumbers, and window cleaners.
• Pet Care:
• Collaborate with the Housekeeper to provide attentive care for the household’s small dog, including vet visits and grooming appointments.
  

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a butler in a high-end household.
• Expertise in formal dining service and the care of fine tableware.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
• Discretion, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends.
